Family Fun Jenson Style!

Andrew was soooooo excited to go Snowmobiling but I'm not sure if he was as excited as the all the rest of the kids (o.k. and me too!!)  We haven't really been for a couple of winters because last year there was just not enough snow (plus I was a mean tyrant and made everyone work).  So Andrew LOVED the helmet!!  He is not his mother's child!!

Anyone who snowmobile knows that at some point you are going to get stuck!  Quinn was really tired by the end of the day!

  You probably can't tell but there is Thomas and Becca in the sleigh coming down into the Play Basin.  And the picture below is Nolan when he got done sledding.

 

 

  Andrew loves the snow.  He eats it, plays in it, and baths in it!!

 Nolan ate a little snow.  You can't tell from the picture but believe me I was there.

 Here comes Dad and Andrew.  Andrew loved!!  He was laughing when they got to the bottom.
Andrew's favorite thing to do is lay down and use the snow as his bed.  Then he gets up and looks at the imprint he made and laughs hysterically.

 I wish I could of captured when he got stuck but Andrew interrupted me.  But it was classic.  But my favorite was when Nolan was in front and his dad was driving and they were side hilling it a bit and Nolan leaned forward and hit the kill switch.  That was classic!!

She really enjoyed it except for the snow and hair in her face.

 One last trip down the big side.  Thomas was on the green sled by himself and Dad and Becca were on the other one.

 So this is us at the end of the day before we crossed the highway.  Thomas was driving so we needed to switch drivers.  It was so fun!!  I remember why I love to snowmobile.  Thank you Robert for introducing me to it!!



Dr. Quinn the Medicine Man

At our farm a typical day usually involves helping animals in one way or another.  This day was helping Aunt Cynthia with a bum lamb she got from Kent Crane.  It was one of three and apparently the mom stepped on this one's leg and broke it.  So the first thing anyone does is call, Dr. Quinn.  He gets mad when I call him that but it is true.  He stitches, bandages, and doctors quite well.  As long as he doesn't ask me to be his assistant.  I'll admit I'm a touch on the squeamish side.  So here is Aunt Cynthia holding the poor little lamb while they create a cast.

 We are pretty high tech around here.  For a splint Dr. Quinn and his lovely assistant, Uncle Mario are using the dehorners to cut off the end of a plastic covering of a syringe.  It's amazing how up we are on the latest technology.  (Maybe we are a little on the cheap side)

 Mostly I took these pictures so we could remember how we did this. 

 The Finale!!  We will see how well it worked in a couple of weeks.

Marcus the Horse

I'm so sorry to name a horse after you Marcus but lets just say it keeps you in our thoughts.  This particular horse is a Perchron and Thorobred cross.  He is big and quite comfy to sit on to tell the truth.  He can be hooked up as well so that makes him super versatile.  But the real reason we were riding him is two reasons: 1.  Quinn does not walk (unless he really has too, like in an airport) 2.  He is the easies horse to catch (o.k. at least on that day)

 Andrew got a little tired waiting for his dad to come and drive the sleigh to feed the horses.  It looks kind of comfy don't you think?

 Here is Quinn and Becca on Marcus the horse.  Quinn wanted to see if he was fazed by a couple of feet of snow.  But he wasn't!!  Becca just wanted to ride with her daddy.

 So Nolan went with the 11 year old Scouts on Saturday the 16th to do a hike with snow shoes.  Since I wasn't going along I took this picture prior to him leaving.  He was all prepared with plenty of layers on.  I think he shed most of them during his trip.  I did send him prepared like all scouts should be.  Matches, Water, Food, and dry socks.  I think that last one is his dad's idea but nonetheless it totally counts.  He had lots of fun and his leader, Shaun Tobler, went on his cross-country ski's and fell quite a few times.  So a big thanks to him for taking Nolan. 

 

Snow Cave Building

This year we finally have enough snow to do something with so the boys started out building a snow fort at the beginning of the winter.  So Dad decided to help out a little bit and build an igloo.  I am not calling it an igloo yet since they didn't finish it but I think dad has alterior motives.  He is supose to take the Scouts on a winter camp out and I think he's planning on sleeping in his own bed. We will see.

I tried really hard to get a picture of Andrew eating the snow but I just got the after shots!  Sorry! It was pretty cute.

Feeding Jenson Style

So we have been watching some Farmer You Tube video's lately and they are hilarious!!  So we are definitely not that talented in the film making but here are our photo's at least.  The day after we got home Quinn loaded up the boys and went to the ranch.  I got a call telling me to come up and take some pictures.  After I trudged all the way up the hill I could see why these were very important photo's.  It's all part of Quinn's life plan.  I'm sure you can figure it out

 Nolan was in the front bringing up the heifers that are getting close to calving.  He's riding the horse named Pegram (she is coming on 16 years of age).  He's out in front "working."

 Then along comes Thomas driving the team.  I will mention here that he is driving Little Princess and Rebecca.  Our two oldest Perchron's.

 And then along comes the Dad!!  Here is why I needed to take pictures.  Since he's over hill he has employed his workers to do his work for him.  I think that is why he had children. 

 Oh the life! Laying in a sleigh with straw for cushioning and having a cute little boy keep you warm. 

 Yeah I can tell what life is going to be looking like from here on out.  Quinn is now in a "supervisor" role, almost!
