Rebecca Style!!

I'm sure this is a little known fact but we have a horse named, Rebecca.  The horse actually came before the little Rebecca that we fondly call Becca.  At the time of naming the horse I just liked the name and thought it was cool.  Then a couple of months ago Quinn came in and asked me what my Great-Grandma Rebecca's son's names were.  I told him that she only had one son and his name is Donny.  Then he asked me who Wally was.  I said that he was my Great-Uncle that was married to my grandma's sister Belva.  So at the time I thought this was an interesting conversation but I was fairly busy so I kind of forgot about it.  That is till Thomas (he tells me everything, I can trust him) came in saying something about Donny and Wally.  I quickly learned that Quinn had named the Male horses (one being Rebecca's son) Donny and Wally.  I thought it was great actually and reminded him that we have a picture on our wall of my Great Grandpa Staker with work horses.  I think he would approve.  So that was a long story that doesn't really go along with these pictures but I thought it was kind of pertinent so there it is.  So here are some pictures of said horse Rebecca with various passengers.

 Another story.  Becca was distraught at her dad on Tuesday that she didn't get to ride on Rebecca while he was going down to the ranch.  (Apparently this is what happens when she goes to the ranch)  Quinn wasn't going that day and so she was upset.  (Remember that she is a girl and the only girl and totally has dad wrapped around her finger) So dad went and got Rebecca and put a saddle on her so that Little Rebecca could ride her.  This would be the first time she has had a saddle on her but she behaved herself.  Andrew wanted a little ride so he got to go along as well.

 Then, much to my surprise, he turned her loose all by herself.  Lets just say that she did not get her horse riding skills from her mother.  Or her desire to ride.  But I will admit here that I love to ride the Perchrons.  They are great to ride and so smooth.  Plus they have a wider back that helps me stay on.  I have been giving Quinn a hard time lately about when he dies the horses are the first thing to go.  But I do have a little soft spot for these horses.  I have a few horses that will be gone within the hour.  Any guesses which ones? 

 There she goes.  I was a tad on the nervous side but after being married to Quinn for 15 years I should totally be used to this.

Lightening

 

 

 

 

 

 Well it was our Spring Break this week and we pretty much worked all week.  Except for Nolan who got to go up to Grandma and Poppa's house and play a little.  But we did take a few hours off to go up on the snowmobiles to Lightening Peak.  These are a few pictures I took but realize I don't have a powerful enough camera to get very good shots.  Sorry!!  But it was a blast and we took Thomas up with us.  Uncle Morgan and his son Payden came up with us.  Aunt Camie took care of Rebecca and Andrew for us!!  Thanks!!

 You can't hardly see but Morgan is coming up after that one corner that sometimes is a little hard.  I know I'm so good at descriptions.

 O.K. so this is a better shot of Morgan and then Quinn on my snowmobile coming up from going down to help him.

 Here is a shot of Lightening right at the point where you can go off to the right to go to Baldy or to the left and go to Lightening.

 See from here it doesn't look like a steep mountain but lets just say there is a point at the top that it is fairly steep.  At least I think so.

 This is taken from in the bottom.  I remember the first time I came up here I think that Taller tree in the bottom was half that size, or maybe my brain is getting forgetful.

 So here's a story.  We took the sled up with us and Thomas rode down it a couple times but wouldn't let me take him up very far.  Then he climbed up to the TOP just walking and then came back down sledding on his bottom.

 Quinn wanted me to get a shot of this.  I thought it was kind of cool.  He is a nice dad.  I don't like to take riders with me.  Mostly because I can hardly handle it by myself.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My FENCE!!!

 So the best part of Green River, Wyoming is this fence I saw.  I took pictures so that my dear Brother-In-Law Justin would know how to make it for me this summer.  I hate to bring it up again but he was an accomplice in the whole trough thing.  But I love the gate and would have never thought of it on my own so here it is!!!  I am pretty excited about it!!!  I know Justin is for sure!!!

Shop Hopping in Wyoming

This post is mostly for Linda Timothy so the rest of you can delete if you want to.  I went on the 22nd over to Wyoming and went to a few Quilt shops.  I really needed a little girls day out and it proved to be lots of fun.  The first shop was in Kemmerer, Wyoming in the Ace Hardware store.  You wouldn't think that it would have a great fabric store but it does.  This is the outside.

 Then we went to Green River, which has two shops and this was my favorite.  They also had a really great sale on so that's even better.  Michele Lyon came over and saw us.  It was fun!!

 This is a display at the Quilt shop in Urie, Wyoming called Valley Fabric.  It is probably my most favorite store ever.  I took this picture because I really want to do this to one of my doors this year.

 So Linda, these pictures are showing you how to use up your scraps!!   Yea for no new projects just ones to use up what we have got.  This is called Scrappy Trip around the world.  And it totally is cute!!

 So the big thing right now is Chevron.  And yes I had no idea what that was.  But this is it.  They also have printed fabrics like this but this one uses up scraps.  You can make the Chevron any size width.

 This was the Disappearing four patch!!  What a great way to use up precut charm packs.

 I know you don't believe me but this is the same thing only with 10 inch squares.
