West Nile Continued

Obviously I am not the camera person here!  Nolan was trying to be the cameraman but lets just say sometimes he doesn't quite get the image in the right spot.  I really didn't want these pictures to stay but I had to document my one horse ride on my horse Marcus.  Yes for those of you that may have forgotten I have a horse named for my brother.  He is tall and good looking.  So there you have it.  And my dear brother-in-laws his name is Marcus and don't you forget it!!!!  Watch out boys or I will be renaming your children.

Like I said sometimes he is not the best cameraman.  Here is Quinn riding Fluffy.  How is it that when my daughter Becca names an animal the name sticks?!?  She named her Fluffy because when she was a baby horse she was so fluffy and cuddly.  She is a little less so now to be honest.
And these next pictures will show you why I don't get on a horse very often.

 Watch out Quinn!!!

Yes Nolan was very disgusted with this.  He is not into public displays of affection.
 Here is Quinn showing off.

Ok so now that Quinn had tamed the wild beast Fluffy it was now time for my nephew Reed to get on.  By the way I am afflicted with a large amount of sarcasm.

Ok so here is the real wild Beast.  Notice the pointy ears and length.  That should tell you all you need to know.

Ok so really here is the Wild Beast.  And no it's not the donkey.  Just kidding Nolan you are not a Beast.

These two LOVE the donkey.  I can't explain it but it is true.  I have no love for this animal but it does make an appearance every year at our family Nativity.

Summer Fun

Ok so I took this picture for a few different purposes.  First one was to show how weed free the lane was at one point of the summer.  Now realize that I am on the 4-wheeler and I can not and I mean can not take pictures while driving.  I have to stop.  So here is a shot of the lane.  But I was really trying to get the boys riding the horses down.  You can see them in the far distance but not very well.
So I sped up and got a picture of Nolan on BS and that's about all you can see.  But wow look there are no weeds.  (Since these pictures were taken I have gotten too occupied with Life and there are now unfortunately weeds in the lane)
Ok so these pictures are a little off of the subject but I really liked them so here they are!!!
Isn't this one beautiful!!  I love the grassy meadow in the fore ground.
These two make quite the pair!!  You will notice the shovel on the front!!  That's pretty much were it was all summer.

Ok so some families have a traditional vacation or a yearly thing that they do together.  Well we here on the Jenson farm vaccinate our horses for West Nile every year.  And I have got to say that every year it is something else.  This year Quinn built a pen on the south end of the Pump pasture and lets just say it is really nice and awesome.  I love not spending my whole day chasing horses (Yes Morgan I am talking about your horses).

But by far my favorite memory is the year that Aunt Bec and Uncle Daren were here helping us vaccinate.  My dear husband has a horse named Jordon.  This horse is now 18 years old and he reacts every time!!!  And when I say react I mean react!!  So the one year Quinn decided that it was much safer on his back than on the ground.  That worked o.k. but not great.  So then the next year (I think) Aunt Bec is there with the needle and syringe.  Quinn and Daren were talking about the best way to give Jordon the West Nile.  And before they could quit talking Aunt Bec walked up and gave it to him before he even knew what was happening.  I enjoyed that sooooo much!!!  It was great!!!  So now every year and try to show Quinn how fast Aunt Bec was and to encourage him to do the same.  It goes over really well.  O.k. so these next pictures are of this years event.  I tried really hard to get some good ones but it didn't work out the way I wanted it to.

See at this point Quinn is lying to Jordon telling him it won't hurt a bit.  But look at Jordon he knows a con when he sees one.

So this is my favorite picture.  He is what happens when you are not QUICK like Aunt Bec!!!

Cleaning the Goose Shed

OK so another disclaimer.  I really should apologize for doing all these pictures so long after the fact.  But I can't go back I can only go forward, right?  Well anyway I am sure to forget a lot about this summer but I got pictures of all the work we did.  I will admit that I was driven this summer.  I told Quinn four years ago when I moved out to the farm that I would be cleaning up the farm.  I gave him four years notice isn't that good?  Well we started in on it this year.  Since I built Quinn a Nice New Calf Shed last summer I told him the old ones had to go.  Well me and the boys started to clean the Goose shed (No this was not inhabited by Geese at least not in my lifetime) so that it could dry out so we could move calf hutches over there.  So we got the surrounding area cleaned but we couldn't get the Years and Years worth of crap out of the shed.  But I very lovingly convinced my boys and their cousins to clean in the front so that we could lift it up to clean out the rest.  Ok so lovingly might not describe it right.  If my memory serves me correctly it was a punishment.
These two were so very helpful.  I think they were the watch out crew.  You know the watch out for mom crew.

Ah!!  Nothing warms the cockles of my heart more than to see my workforce working.  O.k. so they weren't technically working, just watching Quinn trying to lift the shed up.

Well when you can't get it done with the little gun bring in the big ones.  The case got the job done!!

I can honestly say that was some of the worst smelling stuff I have ever encounter in my life.  I can't begin to explain it to you.  And I don't really want to try either!!!

DFA Lagoon Day!!

Ok so every year or so DFA sponsors a day at Lagoon.  We like to go with the kids and this year we invited the family.  Marcus and his family came and Weston and DeLaynie Dorsey came and then we had Reed and Benjamin Jenson with us.  It turned into a good day and we had fun.  Here is Quinn trying really hard to get wet on the first ride of the day.  He did not succeed though because the car thing was broke and he couldn't avoid the sprays.
Hey Max and Andrew how is the helicopter?

How are the boats?  Zannah and Max and then Becca and Andrew.

 Here comes the Log ride!!
Marcus with Zannah and Max and then I don't know who.
 Weston, Nolan and DeLaynie
Quinn and Andrew and Becca and Me
Aunt Lynsey waiting for the Snake River Rapids to get over with.  She looks happy!!
Becca chillin with Aunt Lynsey and mom and Grandma
Ok so maybe she is eating.
Here they come.  I would much rather be taking the pictures.
Here are the kids trying really hard not to get in the waterfall.

Marcus and Zannah and Max and Quinn and Andrew.
Watch out Marcus!!!  Here comes the waterfall.
Is it me or is Marcus shoving Max in front of him.
So lets just say that Quinn was none to pleased with me because I didn't go and he got really wet.  If you look close you can see the different shade of blue.
This is where Andrew liked to be.
 Here they go again.

Ok. so moving onto more adventurous  rides.  Weston and Nolan .  By the way Nolan does not like rides.
 Here they go.
This is where Nolan is praying that he doesn't die.
This is Andrew but these are the rides Nolan really likes.
Thomas consented to ride the dragon with Andrew.  Let's just say he is more like Nolan in that he doesn't like rides either.
